A heart rate monitor, as the name suggests, is a device that allows us to monitor your heart rate.
Essentially they consist of a transmitter (usually a belt that is attached around your chest) and an interface receiver (usually a watch), which receives and displays the signal. Basically, you could think of it as a watch and a belt.
Different brands and models have different features, ranging from simple displays of your current heart rate to very sophisticated models capable of storing and interpreting the information from many sessions. This information can then be downloaded onto a computer for further analysis.
